William Desse

Based in Biarritz, on France’s Basque Coast, William Desse photographs weddings throughout the Basque Country, the Landes and beyond, across France and internationally.

His documentary approach captures the natural rhythm of a wedding, the nuances of human connection and the unexpected moments that make each celebration unique. Beyond the couple, his photographs tell the story of the people around them, preserving friendships, family bonds and fleeting interactions that become increasingly precious with time.

In 2025, William ranked 10th worldwide with Fearless Photographers, with seven award-winning images, and 30th worldwide with This Is Reportage, with four awards.

Believing that meaningful photographs begin with trust, he takes the time to get to know each couple before their wedding. He accepts a limited number of celebrations each year, preserving the freedom to approach every story with curiosity and care.
